Pine Player Neo is a complete video player in its own right, not an audio player with video support added as an afterthought. It opens nearly any video file in your collection and plays it smoothly, even at the highest resolutions.

• Wide format support – Pine Player Neo plays MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WMV, WebM, TS, M2TS, MPG, FLV, 3GP, and many other formats out of the box. There are no additional codecs or plug-ins to find and install, so a file that arrives from a camera, a phone, or an old archive simply opens and plays.

• Hardware-accelerated decoding – Video is decoded on the GPU through Apple's VideoToolbox framework, which handles H.264, HEVC, and other modern codecs. As a result, 4K playback remains smooth while CPU usage and battery consumption stay low, even during long viewing sessions on a MacBook.

• Subtitles – External subtitle files in SRT, SMI, and SUB formats can be loaded alongside a video, and subtitle tracks embedded in MKV and MP4 files can be selected directly. Subtitles written in a wide range of languages and character encodings are displayed correctly, without garbled text.

• Playback controls – Playback speed can be adjusted freely, the picture can be enlarged to examine detail, and any section can be repeated continuously with A–B repeat. These tools are particularly useful for language study, musical instrument practice, and close review of an individual scene.

• Built-in export – The Export function converts videos into other formats directly within the app, so no separate conversion software is required.

• Network streaming – Videos can be sent to televisions and speakers on your home network via AirPlay 2, DLNA/UPnP, and Chromecast, turning a large screen into an extension of your Mac.

HDR · Dolby Vision · Blu-ray

Pine Player Neo presents films as they were mastered, preserving the brightness, contrast, and color their creators intended.

• HDR and Dolby Vision – HDR10 and Dolby Vision content is played with its full brightness range and wide color gamut on supported displays. This includes the dual-layer Dolby Vision format used on UHD Blu-ray discs, which most players on the Mac do not support.

• Blu-ray playback – A Blu-ray folder (BDMV) or ISO disc image can be opened directly. The main feature is identified and starts automatically, and titles, chapters, and audio tracks can be selected as on a dedicated player.

• 2× AI upscaling – Apple's AI super-resolution technology doubles the resolution of SDR video, such as 480p and 720p material, in real time. Older recordings and low-resolution videos theharper and cleaner on a modern display. (Requires macOS26 on Apple silicon.)

• Windowed or full-screen viewing – Playback switches  and full screen, so a video can continue to play in acorner of the desktop while you work in other applications.

• Custom keyboard shortcuts – Keys can be assigned to the volume, and perform other common actions, allowingthe player to be operated entirely from the keyboard in the way you prefer.

• Distraction-free viewing – While a video is playing, hidden automatically, and the toolbar and mouse cursorfade out after a moment of inactivity, leaving nothing on screen but the picture.

The audio engine is designed for listeners who value sound quality, and it handles everything from everyday MP3 files to studio-master DSD recordings.

• Every common format – Pine Player Neo plays MP3, M4AFF, OGG, Opus, WMA, APE, TTA, WavPack, and more. CUEsheets are also supported, so a single-file album image is presented as individual tracks.

• Native DSD files – DSF, DFF, and WavPack DSD files al DSD sample rate, without any intermediate conversionthat would compromise the signal.

• SACD ISO – SACD ISO images can be played track by trent to a compatible DAC via DoP (DSD over PCM).

• Built for external DACs – PCM audio of up to 32-bit/768 kHz travels from the file to the DAC through a clean and carefully tuned signal path, allowing high-resolution recordings to ir full quality.

Audio Format Converter

This batch converter is suited to building, archiving, and sharing a music library.

• Popular formats – Files can be converted between WAV, FLAC, ALAC, MP3, AAC, Opus, and other formats. Many files can be processed in a single operation, which saves considerable time wheneing converted.

• DSD conversion – DSF, DFF, and SACD ISO sources can be converted to high-resolution PCM or to other DSD formats, according to the requirements of the target device.
